Felt Roofing
Main methods of applying felt:
- Original method of melting bitumen in a bitumen pot then using a ladle put into puring cans, this is then poured onto the roof surface so the felt can be rolled on to the bitumen.
- Torch on this felt is manufactured with a layer of modified bitumen that is applied to the underside of the felt. This has to be heated by a gas gun to melt the bitumen at the base of the roll. The finished surface should be protected from UV rays to prevent it from cracking, this protection can also be provided by using spa chippings or solar reflective paint.
- High performance felt is fixing three layers of built up felt systems using only high performance felts, we offer guarantees between 10 to 15 years.
